Business Cash Advance - Q&A

Business Financial Services has been an industry leader since the beginnings of the Business Cash Advance concept. Over the years, we have come across several questions about the innner workings of our industry. I wanted to take a moment to answer some of our most common questions.

1) What is a Business Cash Advance?

A Business Cash Advance provides small business owners with the ability to raise needed capital. Funds are advanced by purchasing a pre-determined amount of your business's sales volume sold through your credit card merchant account.

2) How long has this program been around?

Business Cash Advances or "receivables financing" as it is referred to in the banking industry, has been available to business owners since the 1950's. It wasn't until a few years ago that retailers, restaurant owners and service businesses could take full advantage of this type of funding.

3) Will I receive the same low rates as my existing credit card processing account?

Yes. Business Financial Services will match your current processing rate. In some cases after evaluating your current statements we may be able to reduce them.

4) How long will I have to wait to find out if I have been approved for my business cash advance?

Pre-approval is usually obtained within 24 hours. Funding usually takes 1-3 weeks depending on the amount of the transaction and the time it takes to get the necessary documents required to fund.

5) How much can I qualify for?

Your average credit card volume can qualify you for $3,000 to $300,000.

6) How do you determine the size of the business cash advance I qualify for?

The amount of receipts purchased is determined by your average credit card volume over a 90-120 day period.

7) How do I apply for a business cash advance?

There are several ways you can apply for a business cash advance. The easiest way is to fill out our Quick Cash Approval Application. You can also call our toll free number 866-411-4006 and speak with a Funding Advisor.

8) How do I repay my business cash advance?

Business Financial Services collects a small percentage of each credit card transaction through one of our processing banks.

9) Can I use my existing credit card processing account?

Perhaps, we require that you use one of our approved processors who are certified to administer our program. Many of the Nation's leading credit card processors work with our program. If you are already serviced by one of them, no switch will be necessary.

Business Financial Services says "YES!"

2007 was a fantastic year for Business Financial Services and our agents! Part of that success came from agents looking for new business in “unusual” places. By keeping an open mind and thinking creatively throughout their day, several agents were able to get merchants funded that may have been passed up by competitors because of their industry.

Agents come to BFS because we look at a business’ ENTIRE financial situation, not just their merchant account. This enables us to service companies that fall outside of our industry’s “standard” (i.e. restaurants, retail, automotive, etc).

For example, among the “unique” fundings in 2007 was a “one stop shop” for water gardens & supplies including filtration, plants and fish. Animal based businesses were huge last year; we saw everything from veterinarians to grooming services & “doggy boutiques.” Surprisingly bugs were also profitable in ‘07 as we funded several pest control companies to the dismay of ants & termites everywhere. Many of our agents know how much BFS loves personal service businesses like tattoo parlors and hair salons which always prove to be great companies to invest in. Forget the great outdoors; the great indoors received a large amount of our funds as we helped several bowling alleys, arcades and pool halls.

How does a business get money to grow from year one to year two and beyond?

Many small business owners find it difficult to obtain traditional funding from banks to assist in growing their businesses. Business Financial Services provides funding to these businesses that do not have criteria that banks require. Most banks, 2+ yrs. in businesses, owners with 680+ credit scores and financials showing a profit. This makes it impossible for the everyday small business owner to obtain funds for inventory, new equipment, advertising and cash flow.

Small Business Owners sometimes find themselves in challenging situations. Falling behind on paying their taxes, in arrears with their landlords, keeping up vendor payments to name a few. This is when Business Financial Services (BFS) steps in.

Created in 2000, BFS was established by young entrepreneurs who have faced these same challenges. The principals with backgrounds is advertising and finance put together a fund in order to help other business owners in theses same situations. Today, BFS has assisted over 1000 businesses with their financial needs.

BFS provides working capital to restaurants, salons and day spas, automotive services and retail stores to name a few industries. In addition, BFS, through it's marketing, finance and business development departments assists businesses owners with everyday challenges and a solid plan for the future growth of the business. BFS funds businesses through every stage of development to insure that the business can rely on it's own revenue streams to grow and face any challenges that may arise in the years to come.

Never before has there been a funding source for businesses in these industries. What makes Business Financial Services an exceptional choice is that BFS "advances" the money to the business. Every business can rely on the fact that their customers will buy products and services from them. Every business that has past the initial 9 months of business should be accepting credit cards at this point. BFS takes a look at the cash flow of the business over the past six months and advances money to the business owner based upon future sales estimates derived from sales through credit card sales. A small portion of each credit card sale is distributed to BFS to pay off the advance.

Business owners can get money in as little as 10 days. There are no fixed payments, no upfront or closing costs and BFS will provide their funding services throughout the businesses growth stages until the business is a thriving profitable entity on its own. BFS does not require collateral and does not have a set term.
